Boaz Shonfeld, CEO and Founder

Boaz is an entrepreneur and renaissance man whose life has been profoundly impacted by the power of yoga.  Boaz is the founder of Modern Gourmet Foods, which he started 22 years ago to bring great products to ordinary people in a beautiful way. Since its inception, Modern Gourmet Foods has grown to be one of the largest food and gift packing companies in the world. Besides founding the company, Boaz specializes in business strategy, product development, and marketing.  He has a deep commitment to impact the world in a positive way.

John Germain Leto, President

After a successful career as an agent for celebrities including Beyoncé and Usher, John reoriented his life around being of service to others.  He has now been a Coach and Energy Medicine Practitioner for the last 14 years, contributing to the success of hundreds of individuals and organizations.  John is the author of the book, The Rock Star in You and has been featured in numerous publications and media outlets.  He has been a faculty member of the Four Winds Society, as well as facilitating sacred medicine ceremonies and sacred travel to power places such as Bali and Peru.  John has a passion for helping people to align with their greater purpose and step powerfully on their path.

Phil Swain, VP of Outreach and Engagement

A health and wellness executive with more than 40 years of experience, Phil brings a passion for providing value to yoga instructors in his role as VP of outreach and engagement. Formally President and CEO of YogaWorks,  he led the growth of the privately owned company from 9 studios to more than 50 and nearly $60 million in sales in the span of 11 years.  Prior to running YogaWorks, Phil was president and COO of the The Sports Club LA for 13 years.  Phil is also an avid yogi and father of two beautiful children.

Jenna Mons, VP of Marketing and Technology

A marketing veteran with more than 12 years in the health technology space,  Jenna has built dozens of technology platforms and marketing programs to help brands grow to multi-million dollar enterprises.  She brings her love of marketing to her role at KarmaTree to assist yoga instructors as they brand themselves and their business and her passion for applying technology to help connect and educate yoga instructors globally.  Formally, she was SVP of marketing and technology for ALPHAEON corporation, a lifestyle healthcare company, where she led the development and launch of four technology platforms and a million dollar multi-channel marketing campaign.  She has also been director of marketing at Allergan and held roles at agency titans, Ogilvy & Mather and Rapp Collins.  She spends most of her spare time with husband and two young daughters Addison and Everly.

Elana Maggal, VP of Events and Conferences

Elana has spent over thirteen years leading successful conferences for Yoga Journal. While at Yoga Journal, she directed, programmed and created the vision for Yoga Journal’s national conference business where she produced over 50 national live conferences and quadrupled the business’ revenue.

Prior to Yoga Journal, Elana was the Executive Director of The Learning Annex of San Francisco where she directed all aspects of the Northern California division of California’s largest adult education/seminar organization.

She lives in the Bay Area with her two teenage children where she enjoys yoga, hiking and biking.
